I am a mother of a wonderful 7 year old boy. I'm originally from Pittsburgh, but living in North Carolina for 3 years now. When I started making cakes, I was a new stay at home mom in need of a hobby. I took the classes through Michael's and soon learned that I loved decorating cakes! I opened my home business and it has really taken off. I love taking on new challenges and learning new techniques. This is the chocolate cake recipe I use and I love pairing it with a creamy caramel American buttercream!
"Best" Chocolate Cake
2 c sugar
1 1/3 c flour
3/4 c cocoa powder
1 1/2 t baking soda
1 1/2 t baking powder
1 t salt
2 eggs
1 cup milk
1/2 c veg oil
2 t Mexican vanilla
1 c hot coffee
Sift dry ingredients together and add wet ingredients, except coffee, with a mixer. Then stir in coffee by hand.
